Hi Francois,
do you know roughly what sort of depth limit you will have for the competition ?

Re: THAILAND - Training, courses, clinic

We might only find 40-45.
But if we do a longer boat ride I think we can find up to 60.

Re: THAILAND - Training, courses, clinic

you can get 40/50m at Koh Ha ,and 70m off Hin Daeng ,great dive-site but a bit more far,50km from Lanta (some say it's the best site of Thailand ,it can compete with "Richelieu rock" in the similans.)
Anyway Koh Ha is nearer and great too ,with chances to see blacktips ,turtles ,leopard shark ,and a great viz similar to the red sea.

PS:depth on the map above are in meters, Koh Ha is at the bottom of the picture.

Talking Re: THAILAND - Training, courses, clinic

I remember we found last year something like 50 m quiet close from Koh Haa 5, on the south west part of the rock.

The problem about Hin Daeng is that we have 70% of chances of geting some strong current ...

Ko haa is just fine. Besides you can always hide somewhere and protect against wind and current and still find some depth for a small comp.

Re: THAILAND - Training, courses, clinic

The competition will most probably take place on february 9th...
Currents wont be so good but the dates match with the Chinese new year and we hope having as many Thai freedivers as possible.

If you want to be IN, I ll post the comp in a few days in the freedive central competition calendar with all the info needed.

Darn! Wish I had known about this earlier. Would have loved to do a course. Looking forward to more courses like that in Southeast Asia.
