How to build a freediving Platform

Hi all,

Because spring is arriving within a few months we want to build a platform with a few members of our club. I was searching for some ideas on the internet but I could't find anything...

Does somebody knows some good site, or does somebody have some plans for constructing such a platform?

I just constructed a platform using plywood and foam. It's 4' x 8' rounded up at the front to make paddling it out to the dive site easier. Here's a picture. I'd be happy to include my plans if you're interested.

Total construction time was about 4-5 hours, and then it took a few days for the painting to be finished as I could only do one coat per day.

I've had it in the water, and it works very well. With very slight modification an electric trolling motor could be installed as well, giving you 7-8 mph likely. (I will try this in the spring)

It easily supports 2 divers sitting up on top, and is very stable to climb onto out of the water. Easier to climb onto than a dock. It displaces approx. 1120 lbs. (510 kilos) and I've tested it to 500 lb. with no problems. I assume a safe working load of 600 lb.

I don't have any in-water pictures developed yet, however my buddy and I have had it out a few times so far.

It also transports easily on top of a car.
