hello,
i know taking those is good for freedivers, if they have a hard training... but what is the use exactly? Why to take them because of freediving? Maybe it sounds a little bit stupid, but i never read a real good post about - i`m sorry if i didnt find them... regards Mat |

dallasdiver: not really, but after a quick search through the net afterwards i came to the conclusion, and i might be wrong, that since antioxidants eliminate free radicals from your organism, you consequently recouperate faster and more efficiantly after strenous activity thus creating an optimal environment within your body faster, allowing you to train more and harder without causing damage to your body on the cellular level by flooding it with free radicals (the by-products of physical exertion)
http://my.webmd.com/hw/diet_and_nutrition/tp21273.asp and since antioxidants are naturally found in veggies and fruits you ensure a proper diet with fiber thus aiding bowel movement and other regulatory functions within the organism: no one wants to freedive when they are constipated

Excess free radicals weaken your immune system (you get sick), you feel tired, weak, unable to think straight, etc...
Taking anti-oxidants reduce those problems. Most importantly, they reduce your recovery time after a hard training session, allowing you to train hard again, sooner.
