Hello everyone,
It's cold and the days are short here in Alaska (my first winter here). So what do I do to scratch my aquatic itch? Go to the pool of course! I'm sure we've all had comments from divers and non divers alike about our lengthy fins. Do any of these comments sound familiar? "Wow, those are the longest fins I've ever seen"! "My what big fins you have, why do you need such long fins"? "Those fins are huge! You must swim fast" "Hey there handsome, I sure like a guy with big fins" Well, maybe the last one is just wishfull thinking on my part. But I wonder if any of you have any snappy responses to comments like these. |

"Wow, those are the longest fins I've ever seen"!
possible reply: "You've obviously never seen the Finnish national basketball team." "My what big fins you have, why do you need such long fins"? possible reply: "To balance my unusually big snorkel." "Those fins are huge! You must swim fast" possible replies: "Nope, those are my skis." "Yeah, when i take off, i burn rubber." "Yeah, when i turn, i oversteer." "No, i use them to walk slow." "Hey there handsome, I sure like a guy with big fins" possible reply: "Go fish." Or a general one: "These fins are proportionate to my body, but thank you very much." |
