| rapid heart rates?? Hi All Have mentioned this before on the forum, but have had an increase in occurences again recently, and was wondering if anyone can shed any light?? I had a few occurences of a massive increase in heartrate following a freedive ( plus / minus 24 meters, but has happened shallower) Had a full check up, and was told about tachycardia and a thing cxalled a 'reverse valve' which actuallyu is quite common, and not really serious, but it effectively short-circuits your heart beat and sends it rocketing for a few minutes or hours?? A top dive doc did some research, and say this tachycardia and arythmia was common with the pearl divers during the winter, as much as 70 percent experienced it. I can feel it starting as I ascend, and it's happened once behind my computer, my heart just kicks off at a gallop, I feel a bit lightheaded, and after a while it returns to normal?? Anyone experienced this before, possibly a link to cold water, I dont know. Jeff

| Re: rapid heart rates?? This has happened to me during dynamics and even dry statics. For me it is linked to high CO2, and doesn't happen if my CO2 tolerance is good. It has not happened to me because of low O2. I don't know anything more about it. Lucia |
