i went to order the paperback version, which costs 18$.. but to send it to Dubai... read below!

Quote:
Thank you for contacting us and for your interest to the book The Last Attempt by Carlos Serra.
We do ship outside the continental US, unfortunately this cannot be done online because we need to manually compute the international shipping and handling cost for the book to your address. The international shipping and handling cost for the book to Dubai is $87.84. This price is on top of the price of the book.
Xlibris is a Print On Demand Company and that we only start printing our books as they are ordered and when payment is cleared either by credit card, check or money order. Once payment is received in full, production will start on the next business day and will normally take 10-15 business days for the paperback and 15-20 business days for the hardback to print plus 3-8 business days to ship plus a few days delay with Custom’s procedure.
Order cancellations and changes may only be made before we start printing the books and we do not accept returns unless there is any manufacturing or shipping error.
If you would like to place the order, you may call us at 1-888-795-4274 option 3 for Book Orders or you may e-mail back to orders@xlibris.com your payment information. Also, we do not ship to a PO Box address so please provide us a street address.
Thank you very much.

I´m not impressed
87 bucks on top of the books price is a bit steep, and their printer seems to be mighty slow as well...good luck

would it be a possibility to mail it to someone you know and have them send it to you? I reside in Norway if that´s a help

Re: [News] New Pipin-Mestre Book Released

That's plain ridiculous. Check eg. various Amazons to see if they ship to Dubai. The cheapest place I've found the book (hardcover og paperback) is Amazon.fr : livres, DVD, jeux video, CD, lecteurs MP3, ordinateurs, appareils photo, logiciels et plus encore !, so if you can spell your way through French, I can't imagine they can't ship to Dubai.

I recommend FetchBook - New & Used Books - Find the Lowest Price for further stores.

Re: [News] New Pipin-Mestre Book Released

I have my review copy in hand. Beware Amazon Marketplace and similar channels - where rare items are concerned, they think they can get it and ship it, but often cannot. This is advice from a guy who just bought a $750 first edition of an American novel after shopping the internet very, very intensively. Lot of vaporware out there.

The Serra book is POD - publishing on demand. It sits on a disk in a server, and is printed, bound and shipped to order. One and only one original source.

I would not easily agree to buy a used POD book. You're lucky if the one you get from the publisher is okay.

Re: [News] New Pipin-Mestre Book Released

I got my review copy today.

I am very, very tired this Fraiday evening. Nevertheless, I scanned the book.

I thought I'd got over this thing. You know, I was kind of close to Audrey, and to Pipin, that's no secret. We were getting to be Miami cronies, best-of-friends,- barbecue buddies right before it happened.

Scanning this book makes me afraid to read it carefully. Holy fucking shit. Carlos pulls no punches. It's all there. Thank god he doesn't mention my name.

I'm almost too scared to read it. Any volunteers out there to do it instead of me?

I have long experience handling killed people, but for some reason Audrey Mestre is beyond my capabilities.

Well, Bill - you were there. You're in the book, of course, as am I. Let's not pretend we don't look at ourselves in the mirror !

It's definitely worth your time. It's a very fast read.

Re: [News] New Pipin-Mestre Book Released

I read the script on the site that was published, and even as a complete outsider, I saw that this book was going to sting Pipin badly. ( Even to the point of pointing fingers at some of Pipin's record dives)
It's hard for me to honestly read this and take it as given, as there is obviously a history between Pipin and Carlos that I'm ignorant about??? So I guess what I'm saying Paul is that it probably helps for someone who knew the parties involved to give an opinion.

My mind always goes back to what a friend once told me..

" There are 3 sides to every story...'X's side, 'Y's side....and the truth...

Re: [News] New Pipin-Mestre Book Released

Mamma Mia...

This book was really something.

Paul, I think that Carlos story have a great potential to be a movie. This film should be very similar to the films about Hannibal Lector with Anthony Hopkins in the main roll.

Yes, the book was quite something. There was some news in it for me, which surprised me. I plan on doing lunch with Carlos ASAP. He's done quite a piece of work here.
