What happened to F.R.E.E. ???!

What happened to the F.R.E.E freediving federation ?
I juste realised that they don' t even have a web site anymore.
I know there is a lot of FREE certification with apnea total in Koh Tao ,but are FREE still active anywhere else in the world ?

Re: What happened to F.R.E.E. ???!

I will to do a "master Free Diver" course soon (FREE DIVING REGULATION and EDUCATION ENTITY).
I would like to continue up to instructor later (that's if i become good enough..),but dunno what federation i should choose:
I just realised F.R.E.E. doesn' t even have a web site anymore.
Does anybody know why ? Is the FREE federation still active in the scene ?
Does the federation really matter , or should i cross over to AIDA if i am planning to teach freediving later ?
Any advice welcome.

Re: What happened to F.R.E.E. ???!

Dont really know all the federations mate, but this thread is starting to look very lonely. Soo, from an outsiders point of view, say somebody doing research on probable organisasions for a freediving course looking for somewhere to find a instructor, Id say go for AIDA they get mentioned much more often and seem to have the bigger influence in the industry at present

sorry to dig up an old thread but does anyone know if f.r.e.e certifications are recognised if you want to enter comps or such like or would you have to start from the aida * and work your way up again?

Re: What happened to F.R.E.E. ???!

You don't need to have a qualification to compete in an AIDA competition, you just have to be a member of an AIDA National body. I'm not sure what the pre-requisites are for a CMAS competition.

Cheers,
Ben

If you have a FREE certification you can make a cross over, you don't have to start from AIDA *
Try to contact your closer AIDA Instructor and ask him for equivalences ( i don't know if i write it ok )
