Re: Dave Mullins swims 234 mtrs DYN - new NR

Hey Dave! I'm torn between feeling this is absolutely amazing, and, having seen you in action, actually it's not that surprising at all! You're an amazing diver - and I know there's more to come. See you soon

Re: Dave Mullins swims 234 mtrs DYN - new NR

F*ck! All I can say is f*ck!

Well done Dave, both in DNY and DNF, superb!

And well done to Ant too for a massive dive too - anything around and beyond the 200m mark is world class and deserves the utmost respect.

Cheers,
Ben

ps Did I not say 4 days ago that this comp would have some big big performances?

(Gipsy Rose) Benny, you've obviously dusted off your hoop earrings, glittery shawl and crystal ball - what else do you see?

Hey Benny, it would have been even bigger if some of those fellow countrymen of yours stopped pretending they weren't training and actually came over to compete

I see water.... lots of water.... and people with funny accents taking over the world...

Fran - I hear you. That's all i'm gonna say.

Seriously though, if you look at how NZ competitive freediving has come along in the last years it's been amazing. If only Aus and NZ were a bit closer to the rest of the world then maybe we'd see some of those guys competing regularly instead of once a year at best...

We would like to get to the stage where people come to us. We are working on the judging ranking, organisational bits, venues, sponsors etc. With Oz's help imagine what we could put together.

Re: Dave Mullins swims 234 mtrs DYN - new NR

Wow, congrats Dave on a huge swim!
100m constant, 175 DNF and 234m DYN ...... it's been a big year for you, I hope it doesn't stop there mate.

Also congrats go out to Ant for a great 213m dynamic, been a long time coming. Also to Kieran with 189m, amazing for someone that pretty much only started last year. You guys should start thinking about going in a team comp......

Cheers,
Wal

Dave Mullins: the first person ever to swim 200m both vertically (100 down, 100 up) and horizontally.
Hats off to NZ's freediving all-rounder!
Will.

Very very strong Dave. I knew there is a bright future for your diving when you did that stuff in Dahab ("whatever" - right Linda)... Big congratulations!

Re: Dave Mullins swims 234 mtrs DYN - new NR

Congrats to Dave and Ant on an amazing comp. NZ freedivers are certainly turning heads and I'm sure will do so for quite some time. Funny thing about Kiwis is that when they decide they can be world beaters, there is no stopping them. 234m is an incredible swim and my bet is that he is still just warming up.
