Aussies can do exactly the same thing Andy, so why don't you aye?
I think it has to do with something in the water and we aren't talking about the stool. Look what you achieved when you were here. |

Hell of a swim Dave!!
It was killer to be a part of such a wonderfully organised event by AIDA NZ with so many Kiwi athletes hitting their stride. I'm stoked for Dave on two unreal performances. Congrats mate (even if swimming after your 234m dynamic sucked!!) Thanks a ton for the supportive posts on my swim. Passing 200m has been a long time in the making. I have benefited immensely from training with Andy and the other guys in Sydney and from watching the consistently solid performances from Walter at the NZ comps. Cheers guys. |

And thank you Ant for being a great competitor. Doing that swim after Dave is a credit to you. You have been able to perform consistently under some pretty harsh conditions and still come out smiling.

Andy - thanks mate, and sorry I missed your call on sunday.
Ant - I was certainly watching closely, I knew there was another 200m+ swim coming and I wasn't feeling too comfortable! Having you and Wal around for the last couple of years has seriously lifted people's expectations of what's possible and I think that plus the solid support from AIDA NZ are the main reasons behind the performances we're seeing. It's pretty cool having great divers like Peter, Will and Wal drop in to say congrats, along with the folks from Dahab (just a couple of months guys... I'm getting sick of this cold weather!) I'm keen to see footage of all those dives (especially Ant's, Kerian's and mine). Not sure how easy it will be to upload it but let me know if I can help with that Fran. We just about lost your footage forever Dave along with all of Sunday's performances. Returning to our car after training on Monday night we found an empty carpark and immediately thought someone had pinched the car along with the video camera used to take the footage. thank god it had only been towed so i have the camera in my hot little hands minus $200 for the towing fee.
I know everyone is asking for the footage and I am getting there but juggling 100 things at once. I promise it will be available by Saturday when Karl is coming over to show me how to download, and put on UTube (with dial up at the mo it could be a mission but we have overcome harder than this) |
