ABU DHABI – A team of field scientists from the Environment Agency-Abu Dhabi (EAD) this month came across two dugongs trapped in an abandoned drift Gillnet (Al Hayali), close to Abu Al Abyad Island.

thanks sarah!
the bay i saw them is called "marsa abu dabbab". it very famous for sea turtles, guitar sharks and the dugong that live there ("dennis"). dozenz or better hundrets of snorklers and divers visit him every day. unfortunately some touch him and chase him around, so that in the last months dennis was not seen as often as usual. some more pictures: |
