J Valves

Howdy ya'll

Talked with a man today that has a Sherwood alum. tank for sale. It has the old J valve in it and I was wondering if it's worth it to buy. The tank is 15yrs old but only been used twice he say's. Was hydro tested in Dec. 06 and filled.
He couldn't remember the size. Want's 75 bucks for it. Worth it or not?
Thanks

Re: J Valves

Only been used twice does not mean that's great for a cylinder But if the Hydro has been done by a reputible dealer it should be fine.
You get borderline passes where the examiner will point out that it probibly won't pass the next inspection. For the owner time to sellup.
the same cillinder here would sell for about 50 bucks.
Do you guys not need the eddy test yet?
We're on a yearlly test so with a ANNUAL visual and an eddy an alli tank becomes more expensive to run.
Guess who got rid of his 4 alli cyl's.
