I've made my flip up torch diffuser for filming. Made very easy by the 50mm butler creek scope cover being a perfect fit on the torch. I went for two layers of posh icecream tub in the end, seems to work a treat. If this wind ever drops I might even get to try it.

Evening Guerns
Can anyone who's been snorkeling in warmer climes with just a shorty give me any advice on this: How much weight with a shorty? |

Well you'll be waiting a long time. No golden birthday presents.
We fancied somewhere different so went to Bordeaux where I've dived countless times in daylight but never under the glow of the moon. But we didn't see much to be honest, a few smallish flatties, loads of roselet, quite a few small spiders, one average bass which I took and that was about that. Lovely night for it though, viz was ok, east coast is rarely good. Here's a few pics, took a couple of vids to test out the diffuser which I'll put up tomorrow.

Great pictures Tom and Andy. love that brill Tom. Assume that it and the plaice were too small. I was celebrating "someones" birthday last night but hope to make it in tonight.

Yeh, all too small except one marginal sole which was left alone, I expected to there to be some red mullet on the sandbank but only saw one finger sized one.
Saw one tiny flattie, only and inch and a half across, but it diasppeared before I could get the camera on it. At the time I thought it was a sole Dave, but when I looked at the pics I wasn't sure. What makes you say its a brill? I've got a couple of other shots of it at home, I'll see if any have a clear view of its mouth.

It was fairly long and thin, but the colloration was different, far more speckled, and its very frilly round the front.
It didn't look anything like the few topknot I've found when ormering, they've all been quite dark and blotchy, and it was right out on the sand, I thought topknots generally stuck to the bouldery areas. I'll post the other couple of pics later.

Looks most like a brill although rather longer and thinner. I assumed that was a camera angle thing. Topnots are very brill like but usually darker colourand obviously smaller. Does look a bit strange now I look again. Other pics would be interesting.

It doesn't look like a sole. Eyes are the wrong way round and the nose is pointy where a sole is much rounder IMO. Nice pics though tom.

Perhaps we could ask the oracle? Richard Lord's Google Group was mentioned in the Guernsey Press yesterday - I haven't investigated yet but it's at:
