Hey everybody, I just finished building my first gun. It's not great, just a quick thing to test out. I made it with some old koa that i had lying around. I put 3 coats of teak oil on it and then 5 coats of spar varnish.
My question now is, what do i do after the final coat? I sanded between every coat so far, but after sanding, the wood looks pretty weird. I don't want that look with the final coat. It looks alright as it is right after i applied the final coat, but it still has that varnish texture to it. Help me out with some suggestions please. thanks for your guys help.

Use a very fine wet/dry paper, say start at 600 grit and finish on 1200. This will leave a matt but very very smooth finish. You could then buff that up to a high gloss with a car paint cutting compound.
