Hey all,
What type of wood would I use to make my first gun (i don't want to use expensive wood), and any tips on how i should go about making the gun.

Welcome Fishrman, you can find hundreds of pages about making guns on db.
You could use many hardwoods - teak being the most popular but mahogany or utility would be a good cheap options. Here is a good thread http://forums.deeperblue.net/homemad...one-stock.html
