Thats pretty wild footage....I wonder if, like the seachange guy said, their frenzied state just put the sharks over the edge. I have read of several acounts from non comercial sources that say the sheild does work, including a guy out here who says it turned a real big GWS around who was in attack mode off catalina island. I look at it like a seatbelt in a car....no, it wont gaurante you will get through an incident unscathed, but it sure improves your chances. Good footage in any event.

i wonder if it is more effective with certain species, such as grey reef sharks, white tips, bronze whalers, etc..., but maybe a bit more prone to fail with the bigger predators when agitated, like the gws, tiger, bull, mako etc..., i would also wonder if the size of the shark woud have something to do with it not just the species

GWS seemed to leave when it was turned on and it's sizes was not that small. I also believe that size has to do with it's effectivness. Bigger sharks i think are less prone to the shield due to their more robust and withstanding ability.
