Spora Grafiber

Hey there spearos

The local dive stuff supplier is having a closeout sale on sporasub kit.
They are selling the grafiber fins for about 1/2 of what you would pay for other fibre fins here. i've heard that they are pretty soft, softer than bat 25. i had a look at some bat 25's while in a dive shop in sardinia and they seemed way too floppy for me, but maybe i'm just used to overly stiff fins. my current fins are picasso black teams. most of my diving is shore entry, through some surf and max 20m when the couta are running. i'm thinking that maybe softer fins just need a bit of getting used to. whats your exp?
Also, anyone intersted in a pair of omer millenium comps. bought on holliday and used twice. i'll hook you durban larnies up with one special price n all.

cheers
Mark

Re: Spora Grafiber

I use the Sporasub Grafiber here in the UK and get on with them fine. I do not dive deep with them (max 12m) but for the sort of hunting I do they are just right. I can't compare them to Bats but they are softer than the Sporasub Pure fins for example, and slightly shorter. The cammo is also excellent and goes so well with my rascasse suit. I might just have to buy a handbag to complete the look.

Re: Spora Grafiber

hey there, well yesterday i had a look at the grafibers and although they look the bussiness, i think theyre just a bit too floppy. also a bit more narrow than the other spearfishing fins we brought as a comparison. (Black teams, millenium and bat 30). they must be great once you are moving, but we need fins that have grunt low down the rev range, especially when swimming through the surf with all that crap (two guns, cray bags, float, stringer, flasher....). will have to wait a bit longer before i join the inner circle of fiber finned freedivers

Re: Spora Grafiber

since they are fiberglass they should be better than any plastic fin out there even if they are not amoung the top of the fiberglass fins. If you want to use the chance to upgrade from plastic fins at a minumum price go for them, otherwise they are very good fiber fins in the market like XX1 which is very good. I used gara 3000s before XX1 (Medium) stifness and the difference is like between day and night. Don't forget the carbon fins also if you have the cash they are not as delicate as before and performance is unbelivable.
