excalibur 2000 or t20 ?

i want to buy a new speargun . my choices are :

1- t20 millenium 130cm

2- excalibur 2000 130cm


the excalibur is half the price of the t20

so is there a big difference between them in functionality ?

I've used and enjoyed both for years. For a long 130 cm I'd pick a T20, as it's more accurate and can load more powerful bands. The Excalibur 2000 would be better in shorter sizes for reef hunting, as it's more handy and lightweight.
The T20 Millennium is more expensive because it has a good carbon barrell. But you may pick a "basic" metal barrell T20, which is certainly cheaper but still a great gun.

Yes: the Excalibur 3000 is not available in the 130 cm size (maximum 110).
Same as above for the new OMER XXV and XXV Gold, that will be my next purchase: produced from 75 to 110 cm, a lightweight, handy, fast tracking speargun. Made for bass, bream and gilthead, not for AJ's. (for Aj's I bought a Seatec Gabbiano 120 and a T20 110, but rarely find any AJ to shoot )

I have used three times my buddy's Gold 82cm and it's close to perfect for me. But I haven't bought it yet.
It's just because my wife ordered me to sell or give away some six or seven of my old guns before buying any new one.
Since then I have already sold or given six

My impression on the XXV: the multifunction muzzle, with 4 possible configuations, is interesting as a concept, but tracking, the very smooth tracking is the best feature of this model, due to its slim and light 25mm carbon barrel (XXV means 25 in latin numbers).
It's the quickest gun I've ever tried, perfect for fast aiming to quick and nervous fish (gilthead, bass, mullet, bream et cetera) in milky waters, kelp beds, reefs etc. It is also very accurate. The only downside: it's slightly muzzle heavy with the euro bands/closed muzzle configuration, but very very slightly.
Fondueset: I don't think that Omer will ever discontinue the T20. The T20 is the history of Omer: they may upgrade and restyle it, but they started from it and will end with it. But maybe I'm too sentimental.

I know how the wife business goes, I had to smuggle in my last yokooji gun. My mom is going to France next year, I am thinking about getting two XXV gold a 86 and 100.

It depends. The shaft guide helps only if the gun is armed with circular bands working obliquely (T20 mimetic carbon series), but it doesn't help at all with an euro twin band setup (T20 Millennium and basic T20).
With circulars, if you add a shaft guide you loose something in tracking, but gain some "plus" in accuracy, because oblique circulars tend to bend the shaft and the rail helps against this issue.

if you essentially want 130, get T20 carbon mimetic tube put sticky rail on it, excalibur handle and new match 50 reel, you will be pleased.

It depends on the average price of carbon spearguns in your country (BTW: which country are you from?). I don't know if this is a fair price for your country, but I know that this is a serious speargun.
