So guys, I need advice on the perfect polespear for Wahoo......
Right now I have fused 2 Manny Puig polespear rear sections to a 7' JBL front to give a 13' spear...... I load it so that I have about 6' in front of my hand and can hit the fish a further 3 feet to 6 feet ahead of that. I recently tried one of Omer's ''Hatori Anso'' hand built carbon fiber spears....light, fast and a bit pricey. I'm toying with a double tapered graphite (Two golf driver shafts) with a parallel mid section. I think that light is probably faster and as Wahoo are pretty easy to penetrate I can use a skinny tip. Now the big question........do I use a single Looooong band for steady acceleration, kind of like a black powder burning long barrel musket OR a strong double band for more power but risk flex and wobble of the spear. Any one with experience with these long spears? Bones
