also, there are a lot of little muscles and tendons in your foot and ankle that need to be strengthened. at first they will they will hurt a little no matter what fin you use.

Thanks for your valuable input, but Ice fins are not "crap", you only need to look through the number of happy users on here to realise that.

They also have a 3 year warranty so your friend can get a free replacement blade for the one that snapped. OMD did exactly that and got a new one, no questions asked.
