No mate, if it starts to stick open at about 45 degrees then that is what you want it to do. The flopper will naturally bounce when it comes out of the far side of the fish so it should now stick open and have much less chance of being shut if it should pull back to the fish

IMO and in view of some regrettables losses in the past tuning the flopper is absolutely essential. However, depending on the shaft/flopper combination this can be tricky (too much vs. too little play of the flopper).
