Spearguns extinct in Canada

Hi everyone, I have been spearfishing with a Hawaiian sling for small and medium game, but the shaft just bounces off anything over 20lbs. I have looked EVERYWHERE on the internet for a speargun in Canada but the closest place they seem to exist is in the USA. I have looked online but cannot justify paying $40 and up for shipping and $30 and up for custom fees on top of the gun. Basically I would rather put that money toward a better gun If I am going to spend it. I have looked into building a gun, but the cost after buying a $50 trigger mech. on top of all the other parts comes to the same problem (and who knows if it would work or not).
Im looking for some help or suggestions (with either a less expensive trigger mech. or a place to purchase one in Canada) because so many of you seem to have TONS of knowledge and experience.
Cheers ,
Tyre.

Why not give EBAY a try. You might find something you like there.

Also never ship as a spearGUN. List as fishing gear or aquatic parts to avoid customs hassles. Had to do the same with flintlock parts! FIREARM and GUN are words to be avoided.
