I'm trying to get my girlfriend into spearfishing and so she comes out and snorkels with me while I'm spearing, but while the water here in north new zealand isnt that cold (i think its around 21 degrees, maybe colder) she seems to get numb hands almost instantly, while the rest of her isnt that cold. And no the obvious advice of "get her some gloves" doesnt apply

Definitely make sure about the circulation, then put a thicker suit on till she sweats

it could be many things, but the usual suspects are:
1- gloves too tight 2- suit is too tight 3- gloves too thin 4- suit not thick enough now, if she normally has clammy hands on dry land, it just might be that she is naturally predisposed to getting numb hands. my mom has that problem, which is probably the only reason why i havent thrown in a perverted remark :P
