Hi all,
as I read along here for some days I think it's time to introduce myself. My name is Joerg, I am 41 years old, live in germany and start skin diving as a child. Some year later I started scuba diving and finally ended with mix gas and cave diving (which I did for several years). During all the years I have had longer periods of pooltraining only with mask, snorkel and fins. Now beeing an old man I enjoy going back to the roots and dive without all the stuff like stage bottles and big doubles. I am happy to found that forum with a lot of nice people and very useful informations. I have the feeling that freediving will be my future way in diving. sincerely Joerg |

Thanks all for the warm welcome, I like the way people communicate here. IT's much more friendly and civilized than in some other forums.
@vivien, I live in Frechen which is a little city near cologne. Do you still practice technical and cave diving? regards Joerg |

Welcome Joerg! I'm sure you will come to love freediving as much or more than you ever loved the tech stuff... It's a wonderful simplicity
All the best, Aaron

Hey Joerg. You are obviously a very experienced diver one way or another. Although I have had 35 years experience holding my breath I don't do any additional training. At one time I would run, weight train & cycle. Nowadays I drink red wine & shoot fish. In fact on occasions I can go hunting, catch my tea & not even dive at all! However we are lucky to share such a activity that lets us all enjoy a healthy life. If you ever visit Guernsey (indecently my sister in law is German) you must also visit Sark, a small neighbor of Guernsey, there you will find the most amazing cave dives.

wow, I like your style, drinking red wine and shoot fish, that sounds like heaven. Unfortunately shooting fish is illegal in germany, so in fact I am a criminal
To be honest. I've never shot fish freediving. Most time I did, was on a rebreather or scuba diving. And that was no big deal. This summer I will go to Ibiza with my family and all I want to do is freediving, drinking red wine and see germany becomming world champion in soccer ![]() best regards Joerg Quote:
