Hello all

Hello all. I'm an "older" fellow, been shooting fish for about 40 yrs. now. I live in north Fl. and dive in the Gulf. We mostly target grouper and hogfish and work in water to about 65'. I hope to contribute here.
thanks, Hughdog

Re: Hello all

Hi Hughdog,

Welcome to DB, always nice to have a few more "mature" divers join in. Forty years of diving puts you in my age bracket.

Its been a while, but I used to scuba spear St Joe, Carrabelle, and way south of St Marks. Wonderful spearfishing, even a few truly virgin spots, but not the greatest vis for freediving. If you have any interest in Springs freediving, there is a fairly active group. Look under the "Florida Freedivers" thread in Freediving Buddies.

Connor

Re: Hello all

Connor,
Thanks for the reply. I've only been in this area about 5 yrs. We had some unusually good water at times. I've seen the bottom in 68' from the surface.
Lots of times I've seen 50'. Of course there have been the 10' days too. I try not to remember them. Great grouper up here.
I really don't have much interest in the springs. I may try it just to cool off. Its hot this summer.
thanks,
hugh
