Hi to you all!
My name is Darija, and I live in Belgrade, Serbia. Unfortunately, we don't have sea anymore, so I'm a blue freediver I've started freediving 4 years ago, and scubadiving 8 years ago, but I liked water since I can remember... Hope to learn more here... Bye! |

Is that from all the political craziness? Every country should have a nice causeway to an ocean or sea. But at least you have some water!

In 1991 Croatia declared independence and a bitter and costly war was fought by the Croatian government against the Milosevic Yugoslav People's Army, Serbian paramilitary forces and rebel Serbs from Croatia. Later the war mutated into a conflict between Republic of Croatia and the rebel Serbs. The war came to an end with Croat victory in Croatia and the signing of the Dayton Agreement, Bosnia and Herzegovina in 1995. (ref. wikipedia) The current borders of the country were established following the end of World War II, when Serbia became a federal unit within the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. Serbia became an independent state again in 2006, after Montenegro left the union which was formed after the dissolution of Yugoslavia in 1990s. So the Serbs were left without their sea Delfincica, do you have any jokes regarding that? For example, the Lake Titicaca (highest lake in the world) is between Bolivia and Peru. When i visited the lake, the Peruvians told me that the lake is half and half. The "titi" half is for Peru, and the 'caca" for Bolivia ![]() sounded like a good choice for me ![]() |

Thanks for coming up with the short history of Yugoslavia, island_sands! I can tell that you know it very well! Where are you from?!
One short, old joke about size of the "new state": "Why there is no bird flu in Montenegro?" - When the bird moves wings twice, it's already in Serbia! Sorry for the translation, but I think you'll get it! |

good one to relay sands
And yes, a good brief history as, delfincica said. All the details in between can get hideous to recount and , i'd imagine, to live through and around. It would be nice to have a special pass system for all the decent and nice people that allowed them to go and do whatever. And some heinous penal colonies for the trouble-making, warmongering, murderous, thieving, vengeful, turds who respect not their fellow mans life. Yes, yes, in a two hue world. Don't feel you have to apologize for your translation efforts delfincica. Some of us with native english [or american] are learning other tongues and hope we don't really hack them up. How long have you been learning english? I've been working on русскии for a couple of years now and i find the transition difficult. Everything is mixed up in my head. Just more now.![]()

Island_sands, Wikipedia is really great thing, but the effort is yours only!
This is actually our second AIDA ranking competition, and we try to make it better this time, althou the last one was very good! If you find some things that can help you, please let me know, I will find the way to send it to you! Octpora, that would be very nice... But we live in a real world ...Maybe, if we live on planet called Water, not Earth, things would get better ![]() I've been learning English for 10 years (4 in primary school, 4 in high school, and 2 on University ( I study Veterynari medicine), but the knowledge we get is so-and-so... If you really want to learn foreign language , you must find someone to talk to! Hyuparis, we still don't need visa to go to Montenegro, just I ID card, oe passport...No troubles at all, I have many friends there, and I'm visiting them reggulary! Spearfishing is not allowed in all freshwaters (especially in those with swimming and diving human population), but I will check and let you know! Are you thinking about comming to Serbia for spearfishing?! Best regards Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! |

Hi Darija!
We were thinking about going to Belgrade, but since most of our group of freedivers are not very active nowadays, it is hard to collect a team. Actually I would really love to participate in your comp, but then financially it is hard now (a house is nice to have, but until it is made acceptable, it consumes a lot of money). Still, I'm thinking about it, Robi tried to convince me to go (he would not go alone). Well, I see a little chance.. BTW: did you know, that your nick is 100% meaningfull in Hungarian? It means DolphinKitten (DolphinCat). Jee (Szabolcs) ps: if Subotija (? hope not mistyping), then we already met some times |

Hi Jee!
Hope you will manage to come to Belgrade! Not only for competition, there will be a party after it! ![]() If you have any problem with accomodation, please let me know... Thanks for letting me know about my nickname! In serbian it can be also dolphin-cat, but it's also used for female dolphin, when pronouncing with ch, like delfinchica... It's not quite same, but... And yes, Subotin! Perhaps we met in Montenegro? You were with Karoly? See you soon! Best regards from Belgrade! |

Hi,
so the name is about the same in both languages. We have met in Szekesfehervar (MAN II) - if I'm right. May be you wanted o buy a mask. And I remember, we have met on some other competition as well (have you been to Hajduszoboszlo (MAN III), or in Maribor? In Montenegro I haven't been yet - well, may be I was there when it was still called Yugoslavia, when I was little. Still not decided, but as I see I do not really have th cash for it. BTW: I probably know Karoly. Best wishes from the snowy-icey Budapest. Szabolcs |

Hi!
Yes, you are right, MAN II ! MAN III, definitely not; Maribor - MAD CUP 2006? I have bought a seacsub mask, and I'm still using it! If I bought it in your shop, you must know Kachy, he brought me to you! He is a freediver, but scuba instructor, too. I met him in Montenegro, and was happy to see him in MAN II! He is coming regulary in Montenegro, with Hungarian divers, spending almost hole summer there. So, that's why I thought you knew him. Still hope you will manage to come to Belgrade! Good luck with new windows! btw, it's raining now in Belgrade, the snow is melting down, so soon we will all be diving! ![]() ![]() ![]() |
