Hello everyone,

Does this sound familiar to you?

...so I went to Dahab for a few days to round off a year's cycle-touring and working in Jordan, and was quite amused by the 'freediving' courses on offer. You mean, there's more to it then them telling you 'ok now go down'? The next day I saw this guy with this really weird looking fin disappear down below me in the blue hole, wiggling along a rope. After what seemed an improbably long time he came back into view, someone from the surface joined him and they wiggled up the rope together. hmm... maybe.... of course the inevitable happened, I gave it a try, got hopelessly hooked, even shelled out for the 2*ticked that I laughed about before, and just want to do MORE! but I had to leave Dahab far too soon....

So, is there anyone in Edinburgh? I'm here until October, then I'm moving to Southampton.
i'm still dithering with suit/fins, got to read all the threads about that first, but basically i'm ready to go lets say next week :-)

(and by the way thanks very much Richard, aka samso (he says hi to everyone btw), for arriving just before I left with a bikebox and for pointing me to this forum! The bike arrived very happy!)

Right, for now I'll just practice tables in the sink or maybe convince my flatmate to go to the pool with me, but I'm super-keen to get out!

Hi Lisa

Not in Edinburgh, but not far away, living just outside of Ayr, and willing to drive across.

Currently training for my Instructor qualification, and looking for a buddy to get in the open water with, or get into Stirling university pool to do some statics and Dynamics (already checked with the pool and they are happy for me to hire a lane, but not without a buddy)

The only two weekends I am free before Kalymnos and my instructor qualification are the 31May / 1 June or 21/22 June

When you move to southampton there is a Tribe session on the 1st Wed of the month just outside Bournemouth. We are in lovely pool and get to practise our static, dynamics and some rescues. Its all good fun. So get in touch when you move down south.
