Hello, from Australia

Hey guys,
My name is Tim, I live in Australia. I an no where near experienced with anything to do with diving or spearfishing at the moment. But that, I am hoping, will change over the next year or 2.
At the moment the only spearfishing is with a Hawaiian Sling, but yesterday I put a Spear gun on lay-by (Only a cheapo one, so I can see if it is worth it to splash out on a more expensive one for around where I am, not many good sized fish around here
Anyway, that's me. I am hoping I can be a part of these forums, and be somewhat a valuable member for a few years to come.

Re: Hello, from Australia

Welcome Tim,

I was like you, very green and I still am, I'm learning new things all the time from friends and certainly from this forum. Before you buy too much gear ave a read of some posts about wetsuits and fins and ask questions because every one is willing to give there feedback and help you make the right choices. Let us know where you are in Aus.

HOwzit Tim

Greetings and welcome, getting a gun is a great start but also hook up with as many local divers as possible as its a great way to get up to spead quickly, alternatively visit you r local dive shop, they are always/often keen to assit new divers as there is always the benefit of new customers.

I am hoping to visit Aus soon, was last there 20 years ago, some mates have promised to take me up to Ningaloo (i think thats it).

Cheers
