Hey Everyone
New to the board and I guess kind of new to spearfishing.. well doing it properly anyways! I've done loads of snorkelling but never had a decent gun and the right gear till just recently. Still no epic fish to tell of I'm afraid.. I have had a couple of bass this summer but only just over regulation size. I'm so keen to get out there and hit some marks with some good sized fish.. only the vis has been terrible around Newquay (where I live) recently.. with all the rain and constant swell, and I never know whether its worth driving over the south coast cos I have been over there a couple of times and the vis aint always that great over there either. It seems that as with most things its all about being in the right place at the right time.. tide, swell, wind, rain.. they all play a part! luckily for me I'm self employed so can usually get out when I want.. it's just finding someone else as a buddy aint always that easy either! So to anyone out there in Cornwall.. - know any good marks? - keen to hook up and shoot some fish? Let me know... cheers! Jim Ps. This is a link to my website.. if anyone has anything you'd like to add to it.. let me know Spearfishing in Newquay - - Newquay's Finest |

Cornwall 2008.
Here is a link to a dedicated cornwall stearfinshing forum. Loads of really great guys giving good information. Take a look. Funny really, i see you a lot on magicseaweed. Welcome. If the about link does not work go to my profile page and look up all posts by me. I usually post there. North coast gives some good bass, cribbar is always a good spot, but my biggest have been on the south coast. North coast is buggered for a while with this swell we are getting now. See you in the water surfing or spearing.
