hi folks can anyone advise me where in italy to head for doing some spearfishing shopping!
i dont want to drive to a city in italy and find out that theres no shop around! shops near the austrian border would be very appreciated! thx for all ur input!! ps: is triest any good idea?

A good place IMHO is www.acquasport.com in Tuscany. All the latest equipment, best prices, very knowledgeable guys who themselves are spearfishermen. Ask for Stefano. I think they ship all over Europe.

I can confirm that Acquasport is a shop that covers all spearfishing/freediving needs including advice by personnel that actually use the material they sell. However, Maremania in Milano is also a first class: http://www.maremania.info/index.htm As a matter of fact, the shop is much bigger than the one in Grossetto (Acquasport) and the owner Ahmed Awad is a spearfisherman himself and a frequent contributor to PescaSub, THE Italian spearfishing magazine. Ahmed also offers to customize any speargun purchased in his shop according to your specifications.
