Hello everybody, my name is mike and I am from Austria.

I am thinking of going on a trip to spain for 3 weeks and I have a few questions.

I´ll drive from Austria to Spain and will go over France and Suisse, is there a problem by traveling with a speargun ?

What will I need to get a licence fo a week spearing at the costa Brava ?
Does anybody know where they sell licences ?

Hi Mike,
You need a medical certificate for spearfishing, insurance and the licence. It's around 14 euros for the licence, 20-40 for the medical checkup to get the certificate, and if you already have diving insurance then you are all set. If you risk not getting a licence, and if you do get caught, it's around a 500-600 euro fine with all your equipment confiscated.

You can get licences in Girona or Figueres.

But you don't need a licence just to be the owner of a speargun or to carry it around with you.

i just come back from spain no problem carrying your spear gun when you go to the aiport just give it to the special baggege its classed as a sport equipment i was not very happy with the fish in spain not much i saw maybe i was in the wrong spot good luck mate
