Giving up rowing is like walking away from family. But necessary if you hope to do well in your final year. So, you made the right choice (if that makes you feel any better)... But you're going to have to rectify the fact that you haven't been in the water for the last 3 months
I think I liked stroke the best, after coxing the men's 8. Nothing like having a bunch of guys unquestioningly obey your every command. Doesn't happen that often, you know?

Rower as well as spearo? Wow, I thought I was the only one I rowed sweep oar, every position in an 8, as well as coxed and did a fair bit of coaching in the 8 lovely years I was involved in the sport. You?

Based in the City, but can travel from time to time on my days off.

Yeah I saw it on an angling website too, thats where I got the tip off! I'm not too sure about the bass. At my spot in the mouth of the bay it was only mullet, and further in the visibility would have been too bad to see anything else. I'd be fairly confident of seeing the mullet there again, as there were so many there the last day. You'd just need to do it at a quiet time, to be aware of windsurfers or canoes...

There may be bass, but to be honest I reckon we'll not get any this far up the coast - only Clare or possibly around Kinvarra-Clarinbridge.
