Dived today at another new for me site, just after low tide. Current was running fairly hard and water was a bit sloppy but viz was Ok. and got better the further I swam, think the tide was bringing in clear water. Anyway heard a few bass and saw a couple of glimmers of silver on the edge of the viz (3m at its best) Was ready to quit when I spotted one in some Japweed it was an absoloute hog, at least 7lb but I drifted half past it and at first mistook it for a wrasse! Anyway short of it is I fluffed...

Well went to try a site I havn't dived before Osmington Mills, got in early this morning just before high tide. Vis was great between 3 and 5m explored the area a bit but sadly no fish, in fact only saw a couple of small wrasse, nice dive and very interesting ground sure it will be more productive with a bit more experiance of it. In for about two hours, got out as tide turned and wind picked up.. the surface chop that brought made the swim back in a bit messy but fun all the same.

Well wind was howling in from the east, so all dive plans were postponed in favor of curry and a beer. Did manage a road trip to some new spots to check out their feasibility. Hopefully check those on Wednesday if the viz has improved. Did take a peek at Chesil, was flat calm and probably 2-3m vis. Also swarming with scuba divers so may take a peek tomorrow evening.

Evening dive at HT
Met with Titus to check another spot we hav't dived for ages (Newtons) Headed out and followed shore line. Vis was good at 2-4m in places lots of small edibles about too and a few big boys but forgot my bag! Was out on a mission for Bass anyway. Titus hadn't seen a thing so we were about to turn round and call it a day when I missed a nice 5/6lb bass Cant believe it! Shortly after Titus managed one of his own about 4lb. Started to head back as we were both on a woman imposed...

early evening dive on high tide.
Nipped out to check possible new site but vis was dire there, went back to 'Site C' and tried further round the coast. Vis had dropped to only 1.5m or so. Kept trying and swam a long way, saw plently of flatties but still desperate for my first bass so left them alone. Found a promising bit of ground for later in the year but nothing really worth mentioning yet. Cold and grumpy so headed home!
