My fiance and I were doing some static apnea last night before bed. Tough for her because she is asthmatic. I reached a new record. 1:44! I'm actually really excited about this, because I only started a few days ago. I imagine from this point on it will be only gaining slightly by a second here and there. My ultimate goal is still one complete minute diving.

Static apnea, not submerged; 1:18
Interesting that I was able to reach 12 seconds longer this time, and I was not submerged. The reason for this, I think, is that when I was submerged I was in the tub, and therefore kind of balled up. When I did it this time, I was laying flat on my back.

I'm having a trouble finding people in my area that are interested in freediving, but that is probably because as of yet I've only checked around on the internet. I'm going to a dive shop this week. Maybe I'll be able to make some contacts there. Beginning to think that there may not be much of a freediving community here. The water is pretty cold.

Did my first static tonight. 1:06. I was actually really impressed, because I didn't think I would be able to hold that long. If I could dive and achieve that same time I would be happy, but I know that won't be for a while.
