    Hi,
I can say so far all the feedback I've heard from consumers has been positive. I assume you are also utilizing the top strap adjacent to the trim weight pockets to assist stabilization? I personally use the Icon and find it to be great in the water. Trim is excellent, low profile, ease of swimming in the water is great. It has proven to be great for both cold water and warm water enviornments. Plus the travel with this bc is very easy due to the fold up confirguration. I hope you give it a good try before you come to any firm conclusions. Like I said, the feed back has been great so far.

    Sincerely,

    Zak

Hi, I just purchased the Maes Icon BC. I didnt realize thet there is not much support for the tank. The tank support plate is about 3 inches tall and is located very low on the back of the bc. I think this is to allow the bc to roll up for travel. My last bc is a seaquest balance with a tank plate around 12 inches tall securely attached to the back of the bc. When I attach the tank to my new Icon, the top of the tank because of lack of upper support, seems to hang unusually far away from the bc. If you grab the top of the tank while the bc is on someone, you can move it toward and away from the diver significantly. So in its natural gravity position when out of the water it hangs very far away from the back of my head, pulling all of my hoses and inflator back with it. I find it hard to beleive the bc was designed with such a lack f support for the tank. I have not actuall put it in the water because of lack of upper tank stablility and the issues described. I am a divemaster and was really excited when I tried the bc on with no tank in the dive shop. That is why I bought it (pro deal) once I put the tank on, it didnt seem right at all. I was really hoping to find a Mares alternative to the backmounted Seaquest Balance. I love all of my other Mares products. Do you have any feedback regarding this? Thanks.
