you guys know me and my mermaid fetish, BUT.. this is SUCH a cool wetsuit.

somehow she has the feet modified to contain her mono.

is this custom? does someone where i could get a wetsuit like this? or even if its a wetsuit at all.. looks like shes swimming in warm water.. but i want this suit. and i don't want to email them JUST asking about the suit..lol and not taking their boat tour. my scuba partner really wants me to have this suit.

hadn't thought about asking her. i did ask a friend of mine that is a rubber fashion designer. he said he can try to make one for me out of a silicone material.

It is a wetsuit, made from 3mm neoprene, one piece from neck to the trailing edge of the fin. Zipper was on the back. The suit covers the fin, and a 1" wide velcro strip closes the suit at the trailing edge of the fin. 3 lbs of lead strip screwed to the monofin compensates for the buoyancy of the neoprene covering the fin. It is recommended to use a monofin with foot pockets very close together, otherwise the tail looks too wide below the knees. Alternatively, a pair of bi-fins mounted side-by-side works, too. Any halfway competent local custom wetsuit shop should be able to make a similar suit by modifying the pattern of a standard one-piece wetsuit. Cost should be a few hundred dollars, plus fin. Actually, that company doesn't run dive excursions, they just rent big sailboats (bareboats).
The best way to don a tank in a mermaid suit is to suspend the tank from the boat with a lenth of line, jump in the water and then put on the tank harness in the water. There is no need for a BC, since the monofin creates so much thrust. Getting back on the boat with a tail is not difficult, either. Alternatively, it is possible to remove the suit in the water.
I wonder how big the market for mermaid suits for lady divers really is ?!
