Thumbs up "Jump In....the Water is Warm"

Finally the water temps have warmed in the OC. Temps in the mid-upper 60's and no more ice cream headaches.SUMMER IS HERE!

Re: "Jump In....the Water is Warm"

I was hot in my 5 mm the other day. Water was 66 at Redondo.

Unfortunately that may indicate the demise of Kelp. According to Dr. Bill of Catalina, two weeks of 68+ water will usually kill off the kelp beds for the summer.

I never even thought about the effect the temp has on the kelp. Thanks for the info. One can only wish for the best.....otherwise I guess it is time to head to deeper water then?

not really.....we still go out in the dead of winter. After about 10 minutes or so, you forget about the pressure that the cold water is putting on your sinuses and just cruise it.
