Shore diving Port Charlotte/Placida

Going down to Placida/Port Charlotte area in the gulf the first week in August and was wondering if there are any good places to spear off the shore?

Re: Shore diving Port Charlotte/Placida

Not sure how to get there from shore, but the old phosphate dock on the south end of Boca Grande is good diving, nice and deep, lots of fish, including some giant goliath grouper. Vis is not so great now, go near high tide. Also, check the regs, it might be illegal these days to spear there.
