Orlando, FL Training Pools?

Anyone know of a good pool (free or membership required) that would be suitable for training?

Depth isn't important but would be nice.

One that doesn't mind brining in mask/longbades or monofins?

I'd prefer not to have to drive an hour or two to a spring to get some water time in

Thanks in advance!

Re: Orlando, FL Training Pools?

Will,

I don't know of any pools in Orlando, but I live in the Springs Community in Longwood that has a decent pool (never a lifeguard and usually no one there) as well as "Sanlando" springs (a nice little dive, if you don't mind overhead). I normally just drive to Blue, but would be up for some training if our schedules can work out (need to be with a resident for access).

PM me if interseted.

Thanks,

Scott

Re: Orlando, FL Training Pools?

I found one place that looked like a possibility: http://www.ymcaaquaticcenter.com/

I e-mail the aquatic's director several days ago and still have not received a response.

Scott, I have never been to Blue Springs but would defintely be up for going. I am going (scuba) diving at one of the springs tomorrow - just not sure which one yet.

Re: Orlando, FL Training Pools?

I just got an e-mail back from the YMCA Aquatic Center:

Quote:
The YMCA does not allow extended breath hold activities in our facility,
whether static or dynamic. Sorry we cannot be of assistance.
