went out of Grand Isle last thurs. Good water, good fish. Weve been making at least one trip out a week lately and snapper season starts this friday! Anyway, heres a couple of pics.

all freediving.
They are very good eating. Grilled, seared, fried whatever. They are one of the most sought after gamefish in the gulf. You are right about being hard fighters. See the spines on the back of that one on the far left? They all have those. They are retractable and razor sharp. Many a wetsuit has been shredded by those!

Sweet catch man, i have been trying to get some good size ling (cobia) but only find the babies that are just too small, if you get a good head shot, do you have much of a problem getting back to the surface for a breath? Do you use reels or just standard shock line? How deep was that grouper? i can only find his lil brothers ...
