PS: Hey Greek, I've been looking for new Sten longer than 100 after you asked me, but I couldn't find anywhere here. I'm afraid that 100 is the longest, yet not 100% sure. DB forum members Asturven and Zohara trade airguns in the Usa: ask them for a final verdict. Cheers.
Im ordering another asso 115 mamba and putting a mares handle on it. There isnt much difference in the gun after that. I like the way the handle and trigger is on mares much better than asso. The largest they make is 100 cm in the sten version.

Re: Cyrano 970 SHAFT Disappointment.

Ihab,

To add something to all that Spaghetti and Greek diver already told you.

I never use the original shafts, first thing is changing the shaft.
You can do it for 17-4 ph or Spring Steel.
With these shafts you will be better fishing, but they will not help you a lot to load the gun.

Try to contact Devoto in Italy they must be cheaper than get the shafts from USA, and they are much better than the Ray's shafts. Other thing is that they will be 7 mm or 8mm shafts not 9*/32" or 5/16" like here in the States.

For your Cyrano the 7 mm or 9/32" will work perfectly but if you have another gun of 13 mm piston that uses 8 mm, the 5/16" is not so good.

The power reducer will allow you to reload your gun almost without any effort ONLY if you shoot the last time in the lower position and you do not move the selector to high.

Is a good practice to shoot the last shot of the day in low that way the netx time you will be loading the gun easily the first time.

Ivan

Re: Cyrano 970 SHAFT Disappointment.

Hey guys sorry to brake your hearts, but just because you put the preasure in half power does not mean that is going to be easier to load the gun you would have to shoot it first and low half power to be able to load with easy and then put back again on high power. Also go to a dive shop and yourselfs a stainlees steel schock prove shaft single barbed that shat will not bend. To load the gun it takes technique not muscle. For reef fishing you don't need a POWERBAND gun 40 ft and above the perfect gun is th MARES CYRANO. Last thing the longer the shaft the longer the shot get yourselfs a 970 or a 1100 and you'll catch whatevere you want...........

long shaft means long shot? this makes ZERO sense. I'll stick a 130cm shaft in my 58cm pnumatic and go after Marling I guess....

Re: Cyrano 970 SHAFT Disappointment.

Real smart arent you i refferd to the 970 and the 1100 the gun is bigger therefor the shaft is longer so the shot will have more reach...

Re: Cyrano 970 SHAFT Disappointment.

shaft length has little to do with reach. now power behind the shaft on the other hand....

a 970 at 28atm will outreach a 1100 @ 10atm.

Re: Cyrano 970 SHAFT Disappointment.

Amphibious Listen up. Both guns come ready to shoot you don't need tu put air on the Mares when you buy it. Now take them both right after you got them and shoot with them, then come back to me and let me know the results. What gun do you have by the way ?(Same power = 970 ___________1100___________________) I have both guns so how are you going to tell me that i make ZERO sense.....

Re: Cyrano 970 SHAFT Disappointment.

see now you\re changing the variables. lets take a 970 & 1100 cyrano. both guns powered to the same pressure, with identical shaft diameters, with stock shaft lengths.... the longer pnumatic will shoot farther. but range is not solely dependant on the lenght of the shaft. stick the 1100's shaft in the 970 and see if it shoots farther then the 1100. shaft length is a small part of the equation. saying a longer shaft means a longer shot still doesn't make any sense. far to many variables to make that statement correct.

who keeps a airgun at a factory fill anyways? I have mine pumped up quite a bit higher.

Re: Cyrano 970 SHAFT Disappointment.

Look I'm not taking anything from you and your whole "world class spearo" I have nothing to prove to you, so i know what i meant to say and that's about it so go ahead and pick on someone else My guns are at factory fill and they are perfect and if i go deeper than 40 then i use any of my RIFFES so there you have it.
