Hi all, well, good to see a bit of response, at last!. I used my new Asso today for the first time, a bit unwieldy, (because of the length,) but I'll sort that out. The thing is though, if I hadn't of used my new loader, I wouldn't have been able to load it, I tried, & I bent the spear shaft, again! This loader work,s like a DREAM, Only problem, is that it's too slow.I'm going to redesign it in the next couple of day,s, so you'll have to be a bit more patient. AZAPA, some kind of clamp? yes!. And the other thing you said, sound,s logical, but it's tiring, & even at 6ft with a decent reach, I find it very difficult. Fox Fish, this will load your "Mamba" but it's not a "smooth" continuous action, that doesn't matter though, for so as long as the spear doesn't move in the opposite direction to that of the loading one, the "seal", will still seal out water.
Jonny 250, sorry, no. Those diagrams are nothing like it!. It would still bend the spear anyway, & you would have to have some strength, to make the initial loading movement. Good effort though. Pastor, Come on!, tell us what you think it really is. PS: when I can get this photo thing to work, I 'll post a photo of my first prototype, to, "put you all out of your missery"....Geoff. I think I guessed it was a mastic gun when you came up with that list of trades but it sounds way too impractical so I can't be right. The apprentice sounds much more like a safe bet

OK Geof,
Would it be elbow grease or a glass hammer, standard trades stuff right? I go with the ratchet and clamp idea aka mastik gun, grips, etc.... and I do even have some in the garage! or maybe you could pressurise the gun after loading it? so the device could be a bicycle pump ;-) Looking forward to seeing the proto. |

Pastor, CORRECT!, but just the mechanism. that,s the principle of it.
Jonny 250, "Pressurize the gun AFTER loading it"?, sorry, don't understand. Incidentally, I've been talking to a guy in the Ukraine, he's very knowledgeable on Pneumatic/ Hydro pneumatic gun,s. He say,s, that the power control valve, (where fitted) decreases the efficiency, (because it, "throttles", the air) of any gun. & that the removal of it, would increase the, "speed", & thereby, the "power", of the shaft. This would, of course, make it "Extremely Difficult", to load, unless, of course, one used some type of loader, oh, how convenient!. PS: Foxfish, I don't know, it just wont do it!. Last edited by Geoff; September 30th, 2007 at 11:03. |

Don't think that,s the problem, tell you what, I'll try again, nope, just get the message, "This page cannot be displayed".

Geoff,
When you click on the "manage attachments" button you are given two options, one for uploading from the computer, and one for uploading from a URL. THe latter looks for the exact web address (on internet) of the image. I think you are trying to use this second option because that's why you are getting the "This page cannot be displayed" error. Use the first option that gets the image directly from the computer, and make sure to press on the corresponding (upload) button, the upper one. If it still doesn't work email me the pics and I'll upload them for you. Didn't call you as there was tramuntana all week and now with the good weather my girlfriends here, perhaps next week? |

ADRIAN: Hi, thank,s, but yes, I am using the correct option. Maybe, the fault is with "my" computer. And thank,s for your offer, as well, I might take you up on it. Question to other spearo's, Who would you rather spend time with, Fish or your partner?. No contest!, the answer is obviouse...........or is it?.

I've had the same trouble with attachments before. it wouldn't upload files from certain folders on the puter, just kept giving me that page not found 404 message but it was no problem when the same file was uploaded from My desktop... weird.

OK, Mystery Resolved!
Geoff sent me the pictures he took of the device to help load the gun. I hope the sequence I put them in is correct: Last edited by Adrian; October 1st, 2007 at 19:38. |

OK I see it, not what I thought, much less clumsy. I wonder if one side could be left open to save unscrewing the tip?
