Re: spora sub stealth vs seac sub

Formerly Sporasub Stealth = recently Sporasub Spark mimetic = now Mares Spark mimetic. The main difference between these and Seac Asso is the barrel diameter 11mm in the Stealth/Spark vs. 13mm in the Asso.

In general terms, a 13mm barrel airgun provides for
-> more power as compared to an 11mm barrel airgun of equal length and at equal pressure, PROVIDED that the barrel is sealed with the Mamba kit (or similar) and
-> more shaft speed, PROVIDED you down-size from the standard 8mm shaft diameter to at least 7mm AND use a barrel sealing device.

An 11mm barrel airgun on the other hand is much easier to load and offers greater shaft speed on an airgun without a sealing kit (less water to expel).

Unless you are going to install a sealing kit IMHO the odds are clearly in favour of the Stealth/Spark mimetic. If you intend to install a sealing kit, it is for you to decide whether you value raw power over ease of use (and still plenty of power!).

Personally, I am using Mamba- / Kara-yo-kitted Stealths/Sparks 97 and 110 in the Med.

Cheers

Ulysses has very well spoken:
Stealth=Spark (same gun rebranded)
Stealth/Spark is better than Asso without Mamba kit
Asso with Mamba kit is better than Stealth/Spark

Re: spora sub stealth vs seac sub

i was trying to find out if the spark or cyrano have a duel power facility - i see from the website that the asso does have a dual power option - does anyone know & is it that important?
Also can the mamba kit be fitted to any pneumatic and is it always done 'at factory'?
thanks.

Re: spora sub stealth vs seac sub

yes they do have a dual power switch, wich is useful to prevent damage to shafts and tips on shorter guns (from 40 to 85) if you shoot with lower power into holes or in narrow space between rocks, and with more power in open water. On longer guns it quite unnecessary because you will rarely (or maybe never) shoot into a hole with a long gun.
Mamba kit can be installed on any pneumatic. You can either buy a ready made mambized gun from the Mamba producer (Maorisub) or otherwise buy a mamba kit and install it by yourself on any gun.
Hope this helps.
