Any info on Wembury Marine Conservation Area?

Does anyone know if spearfishing is restricted here (near Plymouth sound, Devon)? Looks prime diving territory to me but I'm not clear on the rules.

Haven't found any useful info so far.

Hi, have a look here for some info. Just remember that 'sanctuary' may be 'voluntary' marine reserve. There is also a debate on the definition of 'fishing from a boat' or 'fishing from the shore' including spearfishing from the shore.

I would also suggest emailing Howard at freeology http://www.project180.co.uk/ as you can't get better advice than him IMO.

edit - found this...On the 1st April 2005 Plymouth Sound & Estuaries which includes the Mewstone became a Special Area of Conservation (SACs). This does not make the area a NTZ there is still plenty of potting, fishing ,spearfishing and diver collection going on within this whole area.
