was it a lung-squeeze???

I had a squeeze over a year ago in Dahab. Traces of blood for few days, dizziness occured when moving to fast and couldnt make a full lung for weeks. The main symptoms faded in about 3-4 weeks time but a slight stinging pain remained.

My lung is just getting back into shape (after one and a half year!). Months ago i went to a CT, X-ray, different sort of lung-capability tests due to the constant pain in my left lung. Guess what! All this bloody examinations showed that i just cant be healthier! All tests i overcompleted with average 20%. My lung was able to hold 6.3 litres of air. So, after all i was totally confused. I could see a little smile appearing on the corner of the doc's mouth: he might have thought that im a hypohonder...

He told me there is no visible or measurable mutation at all. But i still had the stinging pain, especially downtown, where the air is really polluted and after smoking a cigarette when drinking some wine with my friends. The doc gave me a cream (ben-gay) to use and it works!!! A fu..... cream is solving my problem! He recons that an intercostal muscle got inflammed (the curing normally takes only days or weeks) and was bothering me every single day for over a year! Its hard to believe it, though am happy and hoping really that was it...

Re: was it a lung-squeeze???

Good to know it is better.

I had a bad chest infection almost 2 years ago now, and I still haven't recovered completely. These things do take a long time.

Re: was it a lung-squeeze???

thanx
Yeah, I know it from Scott's "fear the squeeze" article that it might take years. It makes me sad though that I have to stay out of water for this long. I was just getting into it and falling in love with the sport when it happened. I didnt hear much of the squeeze before the accident. Thats why it is so important for beginners to learn the safety procedures.
