Question Searching for a used wooden gun euro style

Hello Guys !I want to go to greece creete for holydays and I am searching for weeks now for a good eurowooden Gun ,italian style 90,100,110cm with one ore two powerbands(better two) and a reel wich thakes 50 to 100m of line, like totemsub, Dapirain, gimansub, or something similar

Because when i was spearfishing last time in greece i met an amberjack- leccia with about 25 to 35 Kilos - big fish , i was shooting at him with my demka Ami 60 and no reel, an it was like shooting at him with a toy gun .
i hit him in his back but some how he didn´t care about it and was lauhing at me i swear... than he swam back to the deep, he came fom with no hurry....
since this moment i am dreamindg of this ....

i think the ami 60 is a good cheap and accurare gun for noches ore caves for grouper in holes....
or sargos in close distances... but absolutley nothing for this kind of fish...

does anybody can help me what is the best of the italian wood guns are
there any alernatives , does anybody want to sell his one mayby
thanks a lot
best regards Rofos

Re: Searching for a used wooden gun euro style

Get a 110 or 120 Rob Allan, Rabitech or Omer gun. You dont need the wooden ones to land big fish just a bigger gun. Any of those mentioned above should be able to do the job with a single 20mm rubber and reel on em

Re: Searching for a used wooden gun euro style

Hello Deep thinker !
thanks for your fast reply of my posting, ithink 120 cm is to bilg for the aeroplane and 110 is quite critical...i think the best choice for me is 100 or 90 with the power of 110 or 120cm , because i do mostly the searcing tecnique, with lamp in holes ore notches , seldom aspetto , or bluewater..
i need a gun witch is quite handy and manuverable for caves and notches and very accurate also for big distances for me 5 -6m ,4m would be ok also, witch is fast and has enogh power to hit also a big fish like amberjack ,
i think to put two poerbands on makes the gun more inaccurate exept if you have a gun wich is made in one peace like wood or carbon(c4),
The other thing is, that if i buy a gun like omer t 20 mimetic or cayman ore other barrel guns like ra, ore rabitech with reel , i am nearly at the price range of a good used wooden gun witch holds its value over the years and looks and feels different from the factory made guns..
therefore i think i made predecision towards wooden guns ,
what i am also interested in is an Riffe gun - but i think tey are made more for mixture of reef or kelp hunting and bluewater, (smaller fishes), then for searching tecnique......fishes in the mediteranean are more shy escape quicker and keep longer distances to you ,than in the oceans .therefore i think i need a european gun for this mixed special application.....

Re: Searching for a used wooden gun euro style

The Riffe euro in 100cm might be good for you. it comes with a heavy enough shaft to handle two bands. The omer Cobra is a very nice gun - probably for you a 100. I have a 90cm but i think it would not be practical for you to buy due to shipping costs. You would do better to get one new over there.
The omer Cayman HF and Carbon both come with a reel. Both very nice guns. The HF barrel is stiffer than teak. it is a very light gun - easy to maneuver but probably does not absorb recoil as well as the teak guns. Still - it is very well designed and accurate.
i have no experience with the Rob Allens - but their reputation is very very good as sort of heavy duty euroguns.

if you want small size and huge power - then the mamba pneumatics are another option that you could look into- this would be the most certain way to get the power of a much larger gun in a small package.

I love the teak-seas, they are from greece, check it out index get a Pal 110 or 120. Since you are in EU the shipping will be cheap.

Re: Searching for a used wooden gun euro style

Andreas,
how much money are you willing to spend? I mean, where do you draw the line? 200 euro? 250? 300? Please reply and maybe I can give you some directions for buying a new italian woody.
Note that used ones are easy to find for sale on italian forums, but any used woody will be over 200 euro anyway, so it's worth spending a bit more for a new one IMHO.

Re: Searching for a used wooden gun euro style

Fonduesset - i like to buy your gun , but the german customers would making a big thing out of this i have to pay toll also and then the shipping costs altogether would cause a price higher then a new one .another thing if you where in canada or south africa...
i dont like air guns at all when i was a young boy my father had a cressi oleopneumatico 75 i used to fish with it many times , and i think the cayman is is although it has a very stiff barrel , like the seatec gabbiani snake maybe too light for beeng accurate at long distances, also all the other guns euro style , but thats ony in my immagination , idont know if its real.., on the other hand there is the C4 cabotitanium monoscoca- its also extremly light, but its supposed to be one of the best and most accurate ,maybe the best euro gun , maybe it has more to do with the barrel shape ,and that handle and barrel must be made out of one piece....

So does anybody has an used italian wooden gun or a riffe in good condition scale 110,100 or 90 for sale?

What is the best wooden gun for this my purpose?

Re: Searching for a used wooden gun euro style

EDIT: oops. saw your post tor late.
Please let me know if you can read these links: here's some used woddies for sale on italian forum Apneamagazine. I'd give a look to the Devoto: 120 euro, plastic handle/mahogany barrell, a very good Seatec reel. The many more.

Re: Searching for a used wooden gun euro style

okay, It seems you must register to Apneamagazine. click on the red button "REGISTRATI" top-roght side, then enter the forum and check the "Mercatino" (market section). Many good deals on used woodies. If you need fourther help please send me a PM later.
Just let me warn you that woodies cost a lot even used, need careful maintenance but, in terms of ballistic performance, after all they won't give you much more than a much cheaper new T20 or a new Seatec Gabbiano (and BTW Seatec is the most accurate euro gun).

Re: Searching for a used wooden gun euro style

I have 2 wooden speargun for sale but i don't know how i supposed to send them to you. I live in Northern Cyprus and shipping options quite restricted here. May be i can arrange shipping from southern part if you are really interested.

One of them is 110cm and other is 80cm (they are quite custom T20 handle with anatomic grip, closed muzzle with opened bridge and new omer's power 18mm bands, wood body wide design with tight full length rail). if you are interested send me a pm.

Re: Searching for a used wooden gun euro style

trie to send an email to teak sea, they produce the guns in athens, and they should have a selling point there
For 200 € should be thought to buy something new( wood), more or less all wodden guns have a litle higher price
you always can go for a picasso pacific with two 16 mm bands, or any other rail gun available,

Re: Searching for a used wooden gun euro style

Sounds like Murat might have the answer you are looking for (perhaps he could ship direct to your destination in Greece?). If not, I noticed this week that Apnea.co.uk in the Channel Islands now sell Riffe spearguns and they are currently on sale.
100cm Riffe
90cm Riffe

The Rob Allen railguns are available with single 16mm (Sparid), single 20mm rubber (Caranx) or double 16mm rubber (Tuna). I suspect a 90 or 100cm Sparid would be powerful enough - but a single 20 or double 16mm would certainly pack a mighty punch (you can always change the rubber configuration later). The built-in rail on the extruded aluminium barrels adds rigidity - double bands is a common configuration. To me 90/100cm sounds huge for shooting into caves -- I would think 45-75cm would be more appropriate for that (perhaps with a multi-prong tip) -- but I've noticed it is relative (i.e. people in clear water, used to long guns also prefer longer guns on their reefs - perhaps to keep their options open and/or due to big fish). RA also offer some highly rated reels. Not sure what the second hand price of a railgun would be -- never seen one for sale (I've looked).
Railguns
Reel & accessories

Some of the Greek & Italian (& Guernsey of course) wooden guns are impressive though, almost works of art in some cases.
