Summer is almost here and I know some of you have been searching for the ultimate Camera/Gun setup.
![]() Me too, I’ve been going around in circles, considering many factors; Weight, Drag, feasibility,…..….etc, most important is PRACTICALITY. There are just too many things already going on while spearfishing. ![]() I found this Camera Setup…simple, light weight, …..and most important, when not in need…. your gun has nothing attached to it except a small piece of 3 mm plastic. It’s the GoPro Hero camera (Helmet attachment unit). ![]() For around $170….you can get almost 55 minutes of video…and it takes pictures too. Below, I’ve tried to demonstrate step by step how to mount the camera on your gun…but before you do, here are a few steps to consider:- 1- Find & test the area where you intend to mount the Base Mount (picture 3, 4) of the camera. Check & see if you have enough space to place the Base Mount and that the Camera position will not hinder any movement/activity, like loading your gun. 2- Do not apply Base Mount on screws or any part of the gun that you may want to use. 3- Place a lot of Super Glue to the Base Mount before applying it to your gun. 4- Leave the Base Mount to dry for 24 hours before use. Hope this helps. Cheers, Ihab |

I'd be interested in seeing how the images come out.I thought it looked like a good bit of kit for the price.

I would say the picture quality is 7.5 out of 10.
I already tried this new setup, no fish but the camera performed nicely....didn’t even feel it was there at all. The supper glue ……………I've tried before….it seems salt water has no effect on it….I used it for about 2 hours and still holding on as strong as steel. Marwan, maybe if you show me pics of your camera I might be able to help. Cheers, Ihab |

Anytime,.....yes, everything is included.
When you do get the camera, buy yourself a set of AAA re-chargeable batteries and 1GB SD memory stick. On 1 set of batterries + 1GB stick...you could get up to 54-55 min. of video. Cheers, Ihab |

As I mentioned in my first set of instructions ......You have to make sure the camera does not create an obstacle. For your piece of mind, …the setup shown does not interfere while loading gun. Cheers, Ihab |

Marwan, I think picture quality is very very good....better than the Hero Camera.....next time, let us see the fish you caught.
![]() Is that a 6 MgPixel...the Hero is only 3. Cheers, Ihab |
