Rabitech Apex carbon with Open Muzzle

I recently purchased a Rabitech 130cm Apex carbon which was shown in the brochure with an open muzzle, but when it arrived it came with a closed muzzle.

I phoned the shop where I purchased the gun from and the owner sent me an open muzzle,it turned out to be the wrong one and then I was sent another which looks identical to the one in the brochure.

I had to sand down the part of the muzzle that fits into the carbon shaft (something the guy in the shop said I'd need to do) to make it fit. I did this and it slides in perfectly.

The problem I've got is that the rail part of the muzzle sits lower than the rail on the gun so when the spear sits in the gun with the line set over the spear holding the spear it's pulled down at the front (muzzle part)causing the front part of the rail on the gun to act like a fulcrum and lifting the spear 2-3mm out of the rail in the middle part of the spear.

I phoned the shop and explained and was told don't worry when you set the rubbers it'll pull the spear down which I did and it doesn't!.

Has anyone had this happen?.

I've had the gun a month now,never used it and wish I'd purchased at a shop rather than through a brochure.

Is it standard to have the rail part of the gun sit lower than the rail on the barrel? it seems to me that it'd only hinder the transition?.

The rail on my stealth carbon is at least 1mm higher than the muzzle or handle. This is with a closed muzzle.

ok next time buy a gun to a good shop if possible .
i willtry to be constructive for you..lets say i am custom gun builder in tahiti and i had this experience ..
to fit perfectly an open muzzle with a rail gun is VERY difficult and boring
if are 2 components coming from different makers or that are not originaly designed to be fitted together...

Anyhow even with some purposes built guns you can find this with open muzzles ..upon the brand..the maker.

The only possibles ways for you to escape from going back to the original closed muzzle would be to : if possible
Decrease again the size from the muzzle to be fitted in the barrel .
then make a custom appropriate size !!!OVAL tubing to be fit around the muzzle and place inside the barrel exactly where you want to rise the muzzle up!! for exactly the difference from the rail to the muzzle rail !!
a SHITTY works that i hate to do ..lots from trials and custom parts to built before to find the appropriate oval sizing!!
means you have to decrease the muzzle from the Exact difference in between rails then you have to built an oval tubing with the same exact amount of diameter difference to be fit down inside the barrel = then effect would be to rise the muzzle up from this thickness !holly s##t what a work!!

another way =increase the muzzle rail up with adding a custom ? epoxy ,
epoxy paste / where you will form the shaft rail just before the epoxy becoming hard!!!where the sper goes inside the muzzle ..

and next time do not buy a rubishtec ..buy a Rob Allen by example..
or what ever european guns..
