i have an undersee gunn

because i like to make my own gear for my guns and make guns i am currently converting my aussie gun to a euro style gun, i know its a waste of time but i am experimenting and would rather waste no money converting my gun and find out i dont like euro guns then buy a good one and not like it


at the moment im putting an adhesive rail onto my barrel and im drilling a 3mm hole into my shaft to hold my spearline

Then ill start my next project changing the muzzle

I think you are doing everthing correctly, and in the order of importance! The rail insures greater accuracy, and eliminating the slide has some advantages. And the rail actually allows the use of more powerful slings,as it reduces shaft whip. Is this gun long enough to entertain the idea of rigging a 'breakaway' shooting line?

The spearline hole in the shaft is a tough one,if you get it drilled you have to smooth it really well or it will quickly cut the line.

Dont grind off those slidering stoppers on the shaft until you are sure you like it.

I dont know but I am thinking you may not get the real feel of a euro by doing this,But hey it is lots of fun to work on guns!

BUT will i need a new muzzle because theyre wont be a lineslide after my conversion?

For the hole in the shaft round the edges with a round file and then to get inside and polish up the hole use electritians pull string, coat it with a rubbing compound (like a wax used for buffing scratches in cars), and pull it back and forth all around the hole. This will polish up that hole real nice and soften the edges a bit more.

Nevermind... I understand now. Im sure you could modify the existing muzzle. Nothing a hacksaw and a file wont fix. If you can take a look at some other open muzzle guns and see how they are built. I just modified my 75cm cave gun to an open muzzle by sawing off the threads that held the euro-style bands and did a little shaping with some epoxy. Added a brass pin, filed a channel for the line and the gun works great now.

ITs kind of hard to explain, especially since I dont know what the muzzle of the gun looks like. Ill try and find a pic of a HH muzzle to post. Maybe that will give you a better idea of how it works. give me a bit.

basically how this works is that the line coming from the back of your shaft follows the shaft up to the muzzle. At the muzzle the line wraps under a brass or stainless pin, around the top of the shaft, and back down the muzzle (over the bands), and back to the line release. The shooting line is what holds the shaft down to your gun. You have to be careful because if there is a space between the muzzle and the shaft, the mono will pull the shaft down at the muzzle causing the shaft to bend up in the middle(down at the tip). It might be necessary to fill this gap with epoxy. I used the epoxy putty that you cut a slice off and nead it till its white. It hardens rock solid and is sand-able. Worked really well for my gun.
