Living in a country with doezens and dozens of gun makers, I notice that every month some new guns come on the market with features never seen before. And detail after detail, European spearguns are becoming so much different than the ones produced just five or six years ago. The "in" concept is now to concentrate the mass in the rear, while keeping the nose very slim. But what really amazes me is details, details, every day new innovative details. Here's just a little, very little example: the adjustable hand rest pad. Arbatec, fucili artigianli per pesca subacquea

The gun will be made by a skilled craftsman but there will be limitations as to what can be achieved. We dont have laser cutters, automated machinery or an unlimited budget - we do have a lots of inventive & experienced members who we hope can help with the design so that the gun can be hand built to our specifications.
So far the Euro design looks favorite but no decisions will be made until the thread has been up for a week or so. There will be lots to think about - How many bands, what type of wood etc etc. One thing is for sure, this gun will be special & one hell of a prize

Although I voted euro I think that there should be a new category for 'camel' in a sort of designed-by-commitee manner !
A hybrid would be interesting. I'd like to see a well balanced functional accurate innovative full bore beast of a gun Ed |

A combination of two woods would be very cool, nothing too contrasting maybe teak & mahogany?
I am a great lover of multiple laminates simply because they make a gun so individual & awesome to look at.

Would it be at all possible to make a wooden gun a rail gun? What I mean is not to have a metal rail put into the wood but to actually shape a rail out of the wood? I'm guessing that would be a pretty tricky thing to do but I'm betting no one has one of them hanging on the wall? As far as the wood goes, I looked at the link spaghetti put in, would it be possible to use oak and mahogany? Or would they not work together? I have no idea what wood would be good wood to use together, but I'll stop now before I tie my tongue in knots.

I’ve never owned a woody before, probably because I’m a relative new comer compared to some of you boys, but I must say that Foxy Teak and Mahogany sounds great.
Two strong and individual woods strapped together to create a super wood with the looks and grace of a super model. ![]() Corr I’ve gone all tingly |

All this talk of WOOD has made me tingly......... wheres the bloody misses when i need her.
What about teak with a nice thin piece of ebony sandwiched in the middle, now that would be something to hang on the wall.... Peter.
