D3 battery change

I'm trying to change the battery in my d3 for the first time. I've turned the cover as far as it will go anticlockwise but it doesn't seem to want to come out. Any hints anyone please?

Re: D3 battery change

I think it just is a quarter-turn to anticlockwise. It usually wont pop out at that point as it's a tight lubed O-ring in there. I use a butter knife very carefully to get it started, then it'll come out.

Re: D3 battery change

Thanks
The manual said not to use sharp metal objects so I thought I had better check before I used any kind of tool on it
